ACTIVITIESTraining workshopsA major activity of CIRF is the organisation of training workshops regarding the topics of stream restoration.
April 11/12/13 2002 - Collecchio (PR) MANAGING ENVIRONMENTAL CONFLICTS ON THE TARO RIVER: to try in order to understand, to understand in order to believe, to believe in order to act The traditional approach to decision making (final condition of a river, planning, etc) generally follows the scheme decision-announcement-defence, and the main limit is the presence of more or less explicit conflicts of interests. June 3/4/5 2002 - Trento NEW TECHNICAL AND CONCEPTUAL APPROACHES FOR THE MANAGING AND RESTORATION OF MOUNTAIN STREAMS The workshop was intended to present technical and conceptual means so as to stimulate an integrated and sustainable management of streams, with particular emphasis on mountain areas.
May 9/10/11 2002 - Passignano sul Trasimeno (PG) NEW ECOLOGICAL TECHNOLOGIES FOR WASTE WATER TREATMENT The workshop introduced the new ‘philosophy’ in waste water treatment, from "cleaning plant fragmentation" to secondary use of treated waters and opportunities for multipurpose projects (wetland construction, hydraulic compatibility etc.). May 23-24-25 2002 - Gole di Alcantara Motta Camastra (CT) STREAM RESTORATION: RECENT IDEAS FOR NEW APPROACHES Basic workshop concerning new approaches to stream restoration.
The aims of the workshop were to present the different hydraulic and environmental approaches, to make clear the meaning of natural engineering and stream restoration, to classify the techniques according to their aims. September 26/27/28 2002 - Orbetello (GR) BUFFER STRIPS: THEORY, PRACTICE, OPPORTUNITIES Following the theoretical workshop organised in 2000, this workshop aims to a detailed knowledge of buffer strip functions and managing. October 2/4 2002 - S. Quirico d'Orcia (SI) THE GEOMORPHOLOGIC APPROACH TO THE MANAGEMENT AND RESTORATION OF STREAM CHANNELS The main aim of this workshop is to promote knowledge about the geomorphologic approach and its typical methods and their possible use in the field of stream restoration and in a wider sense in the planning and management of freshwater resources. |
